Department of Informatics: Ionian University participates in "The Hour Of Code 2018"!

The Department of Informatics, Ionian University participates for the first time in The Hour Of Code, a global action that takes place annually since 2013 during the Computer Science Education Week (CSed Week) under the auspices of Code.Org with the participation of over 600,000,000 students worldwide. This action is organized by Mrs. Rozalia Nikopoulou, Phd. Candidate and Dr. Phivos Mylonas, Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics, Ionian University, and aims at providing both students - in primary and secondary education – as well as adults, the opportunity to code just for One Hour, so as to get acquainted with the possibilities provided by Computer Science on cultivating various skills , such as problem solving, logic, and creativity. The action will take place in the premises of the Humanistic Informatics Laboratory (HILab) and the "Galinos" Laboratory of the Department of Informatics, on Tuesday, December 4th, 2018 in cooperation with Lefkimmi’s Middle School and the participation of about 50 students.
