SCHOLARS AT RISK GREECE
We are honored to invite you to the Regional Outreach Workshop (SE Europe) of the Program, which will take place on March 13, 2025, at the Center for Dissemination of Research Results (KEDEA) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (with the possibility of online monitoring).
The Inspireurope+ program (2022-2025, funded by MSCA-Horizon Europe) is a continuation of Inspireurope (2019-2022) and aims to expand the European support network for researchers and academics from all over the world who are experiencing discrimination, persecution, displacement, threats to their careers or even to their very lives.
Aristotle University, as a partner in both of these programs, has, for six years, played the central coordinating role in actions for Eastern, Southern and South-Eastern Europe with an emphasis on the Balkan countries.
In this context, the Conference of March 13, 2025 aims, starting from the discussion on fundamental academic values, to highlight the importance of supporting academics/researchers "at risk" not only for themselves but also for the defense of academic freedom, research progress and excellence. It also aims to discuss the relevant challenges and present good practices that will increase the readiness of academic institutions and interested employers in the non-academic sector to host/employ researchers “at risk”, as well as the mutual benefits that arise when the principles of diversity, equality and inclusion (D.E.I. principles) are applied in HEIs.
The event will be held in English, with the participation of academics, researchers, university administrators, as well as representatives of non-academic bodies and NGOs from all over Europe.
Detailed information about the Workshop program as well as the link for your registration (in person or online participation) are given on the website https://inspireurope.auth.gr/en/workshop2025
