International Summer Academy for Intercultural Communication

The International Summer Academy for Intercultural Communication (ISAIC) will be held in June, 2018 for the first time at the Department of Foreing Languages, Translation and Interpreting (DFLTI) of the Ionian University. The main goal of the Academy is to cultivate intercultural understanding and awareness and develop intercultural skills. The ISAIC will gather university students from several countries and diverse cultural backgrounds and through lectures, seminars, workshops and simulation activities, it will be able to cultivate the aforementioned goals. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn about the local culture and discover the rich natural beauty of the island. This year, ISAIC will enroll 50 international students, most of whom will be hosted by volunteer-students of the DFLTI thus helping develop long-lasting ties.
