On October 24th 2025, the "World Sinologists' China Night", a grand event and closing ceremony, concluded the Second "World Sinology Month" at the Center for World Sinology at Beijing Language and Culture University. Nearly 100 sinologists and China studies experts from over 30 countries attended the event, honoring outstanding scholars and leading institutions for their contributions to Sinology and Chinese studies worldwide.

The World Council of Sinologists and its executive body, the World Sinology Center, jointly commended scholars and institutions that have made outstanding achievements in Sinology research, academic organization, discipline construction, and international exchange in the past year.
THE AWARDS
The Hellenic Sinology Center was the award-winning organisation for the “World Sinology Center Overseas Branch Construction Achievement Award” focusing on outstanding achievements in the construction of overseas Sinology centers and cultural and academic communication, on the following grounds: "The Greek Sinology Center has successfully established a model Sinology research hub in Southern Europe, achieving a localized integration of talent cultivation, knowledge production and dissemination."

Award-winning Dr. Elena Avramidou, executive director of the Hellenic Sinology Center, was awarded the “World Congress of Sinologists' Outstanding Regional Conference Organization Award” aiming to recognize scholars who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and organizational skills in organizing regional sinology conferences, on the following grounds: "Elena Avramidou, the chief coordinator of the 3rd China-Balkan Sinology Conference and executive director of the Greek Center for Sinology, has ensured the quality continuity of the China-Balkan academic dialogue mechanism and the iterative deepening of its impact with her outstanding academic qualities."

Award-winning Professor Stavros Katsios, Director of the Greek Sinology Center , was awarded the “World Sinology and Chinese Studies Discipline Construction Achievement Award” aiming to recognize major contributors and academic innovators who have promoted the development of Sinology and Chinese Studies disciplines, on the following grounds: "Professor Stavros Katsios, Director of the Greek Sinology Center, has successfully integrated Sinology and Chinese studies education into the mainstream framework of his country's higher education and think tank research."

For the director of the World Sinology Center Professor Xu Baofeng, the "World Sinologists' China Night", as the closing event of World Sinology Month, is not only an academic celebration to pay tribute to colleagues who have been deeply engaged in Sinology research for a long time and promoted mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations, but also an important platform for deepening exchanges in the field of global Sinology.
