Visit of the delegation of the Government of Shandong Province to the Hellenic Sinology Center

On April 24th, 2026, the Hellenic Sinology Center received a high-level delegation from the government of Shandong Province, one of the most economically dynamic and culturally important provinces of the PR China. The head of the delegation was Mr. Lin Haibin, Deputy Director General of the Office of Foreign Affairs, accompanied by Mr. Cao Guoping, Division Chief of European and American Affairs, and Mr. Jiang Yunyun, Director of the European Affairs Division. The Chinese delegation was received by the director of the Hellenic Sinology Center, Professor Stavros Katsios; the executive director of the Hellenic Sinology Center, Dr. Elena Avramidou; and Professor Stefanos Vlachopoulos, member of the scientific board of the Hellenic Sinology Center. 

After presenting the role, the multi-level cultural and educational activities, and the unique joint character of the Hellenic Sinology Center and its ties with Shandong Province—especially with the city of Qingdao, where the World Sinology Center is based—the discussions focused on joint venture perspectives, projects, and the exchange of students and professors between the Ionian University and the universities of Shandong Province. 

Deputy Director General Lin Haibin underlined the crucial role of the Hellenic Sinology Center as a main regional partner of Shandong Province in cultural and educational affairs.
