Announcement on COVID-19 for Erasmus+ incoming students and staff in Ionian University

Following the recent developments on COVID-19 current outbreak, we would like to inform you that for the moment no cases have been confirmed inside the academic community of Ionian University.

However, Ionian University is undertaking specific preventative measures based on the Ministerial decisions issued on the temporary closure of all schools and universities in the country.

The Rectorate of I. U. has announced the cancellation of all educational activities for the period from 11.3.2020 to 24.3.2020 and until further notice, as follows:

(a) all educational activities performed in a physical manner;

(b) the operation of libraries, the rooms of shared electronics computers, reading rooms, restaurants and canteens, sports facilities and generally any public gathering space of Ionian University.

    *The restaurant will deliver food packages to students during the same opening hours.

(c) official ceremonies, conferences or any other type of event and activities.

It should be noted that up to this moment temporary closure is not implemented in:

(a) administrative services, (b) research activities, (c) the operation of I. U. Research Committee; and (d) the operation of the University's dormitory.

All Incoming Students who are currently enrolled in Ionian University should inform the Erasmus Office about their intention on cancelling or postponing their mobility and return home.

During the same period and until further notice, any incoming mobility for students or staff(teaching or administrative) that has not started yet, will be cancelled.
