The Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpreting (DFLTI), Ionian University, in collaboration with the Société Internationale de Linguistique Fonctionnelle (SILF) is organising the 33rd International Colloquium of Functional Linguistics which will take place in Corfu at the Ionian Academy on October 11-16, 2010.
Topics of the colloquium are: a) “Linguistics, Translation and Interpreting”, b) “The Dynamics and Change of Syntax”, c) “Personal monemes in the most diverse languages”. The topic contributions will be accompanied by individual communications as well as posters on topics derived from subject areas of Functional Linguistics.
The colloquium will be honoured by the contributions of two distinguished linguists: Professor Georgios Babiniotis of Athens University (Greece), and Professor Brian Joseph of Ohio State University (USA). Additionally, within the framework of the colloquium, Dr. Georgios Babiniotis, Professor Emeritus of Athens University and Dr. Christos Clairis, Professor Emeritus of Paris Descartes University, Sorbonne, will be delivering speeches on “Modern Greek Dictionaries and Grammars” on October 12, 2010, 20:00 at the Ionian Academy. The event will be open to the public.
