In accordance with what has been one of the Conference’s key themes since its initial inception, HAL’s presence at TTT 2023 Malta is focused on the convergence between art, technology and science and how innovative, creative and beneficial that convergence can be. Through a series of talks, performances and installations, the members of HAL will showcase the programme’s research on a wide range of cutting-edge fields, including: Gamification, VR technology and the metaverse, AI, Telematic arts, BioArt, Sound Art and sound technology.

More specifically, on September 26th, post-doctoral researcher Adam Zaretsky will present the performance Octagon.Pharma at the Courtyard of the Palazzo de la Salle. Wednesday, September 27th sees the interactive choreography and audiovisual performance Takekurabe, by Mary Randou and Yoshimitsu Yoshiya (dance), Professor Iannis Zannos (sound) & Department of Audio and Visual Arts graduate Vicky Bisbiki (graphics). The performance will start at noon, at the Palazzo’s Concert Hall.

This includes:  Ionian Film Office Metaverse by HAL’s Gamification node (coordinated by Associate Professor Yannis Deliyiannis), Abortion Chairs by HAL’s 3D Performances and Animation node (coordinated by Professor Konstantinos Tiligadis) and Vibrating Earth and Octagon Pharmacy by HAL’s Moving Image node (coordinated by Department of Audio and Visual Arts teaching staff member Tania Tsiridou). HAL’s ArtBox will remain open until the completion of TTT 2023 Malta, on September 29th.

Finally, on September 27th, the installation Hybrid Nature by Associate Professor Apostolos Loufopoulos and Ph.D. Candidate Thanasis Epitideios will be performed at the Courtyard. Earlier that day, at 17:30, a roundtable and Q&A about HAL will be held at the Palazzo’s Concert Hall, featuring HAL researchers Michael Panagopoulos (Associate Professor at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts and Coordinator of the Programme), Yannis Deliyiannis, Iannis Zannos, Maria-Ilia Katsaridou (post-doctoral researcher), Tania Tsiridou, Apostolos Loufopoulos, and Thanasis Epitideios.
