A delegation of the Ionian University led by the Rector, Professor Andreas Floros, paid an official visit to China from 18 to 28 September 2024. The visit was part of the activities of the Hellenic Sinology Center [sinology.ionio.gr], which was founded and operates at the Ionian University in cooperation with the Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) with the mission to promote academic cooperation and research in the field of Chinese studies not only in Greece, but also in Southeastern Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean region.
The mission was attended by the Director of the Hellenic Sinology Center of the I.U., Professor Stavros Katsios, the Executive Director of the Hellenic Sinology Center, Dr. Elena Avramidou, Professor Panagiotis Vlamos, member of the Administration Board of the IU, and Professors Alexis Papadopoulos and Stefanos Vlachopoulos, members of the Executive and Scientific Committees of the "UNESCO Chair on Threats to Cultural Heritage".
