What?

The MA in Adriatic Studies explores the Adriatic as a crossroads of civilizations, examining its rich history, culture, and dynamics. A network of partner institutions accompanies the program, offering support and enriching the student experience. Where?

The program is hosted by the Department of History at the Ionian University in Corfu and is delivered entirely through distance learning

 

Curriculum

The curriculum offers a comprehensive exploration of the Adriatic through three key perspectives:

  • Regionality, offering a comprehensive view of the area;
  • Territoriality, highlighting its distinct characteristics;
  • Mobility, exploring movement, exchange, and overlooked connections.

The operation of the program is defined by its flexibility, offering a wide variety of elective seminars, fieldwork, and active support for thesis completion, including in-person colloquium.

Who can apply?

The MA Adriatic Studies program accepts graduates of Humanities, Social, Political and Legal Sciences holding a first and/or second-cycle degree from Higher Education Institutions from Greece, the EU and overseas.

Admission requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in the fields of Humanities, Social, Political and Legal Sciences
  • Proficiency in English (C2 level), in case English is not your native language
  • Two references (preferably academic)
  • Research proposal

 

 

Total Credits: 120 ECTS

Duration: Full time – 4 semesters (2 years)

Tuition fees: 3600€
