The Department of Music of the Ionian University and the Piano Plus Festival welcomes you to the renewed and expanded Summer Piano Institute 2019! This year the institute spreads its wings to embrace more artists, more educational foundations, and of course plenty participants from around the world. Unique names from Europe, United States, and Asia shape this year’s great music event located at the most musical island of Greece, Corfu. Concerts, masterclasses, workshops, lectures, excursions and many more will forever engrave in everyone’s memory this musical week of June.
Like every year, the participant students will have the opportunity to learn and exchange musical ideas with leading artists that the Summer Institute has invited. The audience will enjoy six unique piano recitals and masterclasses by renowned pianists as well as by aspired young artists who come every year to broaden their musical knowledge.
This year the Institute has invited charismatic artists from great Universities such as California State University, University of Missouri–Kansas, Bowling Green State University and Mahidol University of Thailand. Dmitry Rachmanov, Thomas Rosenkranz, Ann Chang, Eri Nakagawa, Solungga Liu, Robert Satterlee, Nico Benadie are but a few amongst the great pianists that the festival is proud to present this year.
