Images from the experimental laboratories of ethnoarchaeology organized by the Dept. of History of Ionian University in the framework of the Interreg Program FISH&CHIPS, aiming at promoting the fishing tradition of South Corfu and through the creation of the Ecomuseum of Petritis to evaluate coastal habitats, foster local identities and diversify economic activities associated to the sea.
During the workshops students, freelance professionals, fishermen and young people of the area had the chance to participate in the revival of old fishing methods at Korission Lagoon and at the port of Petritis fishing village, prepare traditional lake products such as fish roe, and learn about a long tradition of practices and techniques transmitted from father to son, which constitute part of the material and immaterial cultural heritage of the local fishing communities of Southern Corfu.
