Project Mystery 91_Magnetic Dance, explores the relationship between technology and culture through a series of performances in collaboration with artists from Greece, Japan, and France. The technology for the project was developed within the framework of the HAL research project of the Department of audiovisual Arts at the Ionian University and is presented here for the first time in autonomous, large-scale works.

The fifth international conference Taboo - Transgression - Transcendence in Art & Science will take place September 27–29, 2023 in Valletta, Malta. Approximately 170 speakers from more than 30 countries focused (a) on questions about the nature of the forbidden and about the aesthetics of liminality, and (b) on the opening of spaces for creative transformation in the merging of science and art.

On Friday 17 February 2023, at the premises of ILAM and online via Zoom, an International Conference will take place in the framework of the research project "Zoara/Zughar in the Ghor as-Safi, Jordan: Interdisciplinary Research and Study of the Discoveries of an Early Byzantine and Medieval Islamic Commercial City in Palaestina Tertia - southern Bilad ash-Sham".

TTT is an interdisciplinary and nomadic event, where both practitioners as well as theorists present and discuss the status of art-science and/or art & technology. TTT, created by Dalila Honorato, Assoc. Professor, Dept Audio & Visual Arts of the Ionian University, is based on the support of a large informal network of international researchers and practitioners that develop their activities at the edge of art and science intersections. The conference language is English. Proposals must be sent electronically through the EasyChair submissions system until January 31st, 2023.

While the call for proposals to the conference Taboo – Transgression - Transcendence in Art & Science 2023 taking place at the Malta Society of Arts in Valletta is open until the end of January 2023, the main core of the proceedings of TTT2020 Vienna/Online have just been released in an open access publication in digital format (e-Book), with ISBN number 978-960-7260-70-3.

The year 2022 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Greek-born pioneer composer and thinker Iannis Xenakis, and is accompanied worldwide by events dedicated to his memory and work. To honour this Greek-born musician, a marathon concert takes place at Athens Conservatory, on Saturday 17 December, presenting works inspired by his musical work and his reflections on science and technology and the role of muscles in society and the arts. This event, which takes place at the Athens Conservatory from 7 pm until 3:30 am the following day, features musicians and artists from ten different countries (Greece, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Japan, Mexico, England, Ireland, Germany, Turkey, United States).

The 2nd AVARTS Live Game Hub takes place on the 6th of December 2022 and welcomes anyone who wants to play games designed by new game designers and developers and to participate in a creative dialogue concerning ideas, technologies, and approaches that make games more attractive. In the context of the research activity of the Interactive Arts Laboratory (InArts) of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University, the Art Boulevard search engine, an academic project that aims to assist with the diffusion of Art and Culture related content, while at the same collecting useful information about the needs and wants of people looking for such content online. 

On Tuesday, October 11th, 2022, in room YK1 of the Department of Audio & Visual Arts – Ionian University, from 18:30 to 20:00, as part of the course "THE702 Multimedia Semiotics IΙ", Assoc. Prof. Dalila Honorato invite you to the lecture “Current trends in Gender and Sexuality and their influence on Media and Fashion” by the US guest-speaker Dr. Sharna Striar. This lecture is supported by the Interactive Arts Laboratory, the Program for the design of an Erasmus+ MA Art, Science and Health, and the Gender Equality Committee of the Ionian University.

The META-Xenakis global symposium will be held online on September 30 and October 1, 2022, by various educational institutions across 5 countries all over the world connected via the web.
