The History Department continues the Open Lectures series by Ionian University teaching staff, professors from other Greek, as well as international universities.

These Open Lectures intend to help diffuse knowledge from the field of History and other related sciences, and are not only aimed at academic community audiences, but all interested members of the general public are invited as well.

On December 3rd 2007 at 16.00, Mr David Starkey, Professor at the University of Hull, will present a paper titled “Tarred with Same Brush? Pirates, Buccaneers and Privateersmen, 1650-1815”.

The lecture will be held in English, in the ground floor amphitheatre at the Department of History, Ioannou Theotoki 72, Corfu Town.
