Seals from the Ionian University excavation in Therasia shed light on the emergence of script in the prehistoric Aegean

The Ionian University excavation at the prehistoric settlement of Koimisi in Therasia has brought to light an important find, which sheds light on the first steps in the creation of writing in the prehistoric Aegean. The find was published in open access by Cambridge University Press, in an article by K. Sbonia, I. Tzachilis and G. Kordatzakis.

Sorbonne Nouvelle University (Paris III), and the European Popular Culture Association (EPCA) are organizing the International Conference EUPOP 2025 “United in Diversity”, which focuses on European popular culture and its various forms. The conference will explore topics such as the boundaries of popular culture, politics, forms of propaganda and influence, as well as methodological issues, all through an interdisciplinary approach. Renata Dalianoudi, Associate Professor at the Department of Audio & Visual Arts of the Ionian University, will represent the Ionian University as the keynote speaker of the panel, with a presentation titled: “From the Imported Discs of Copland in the ’50s and the European Rock of the ’60s to the Political Anti-American Songs of the ’70s: A Musicological and Cultural Approach to Greek Musical Identity of the Era.” Dates: July 3–5, 2025.

The Terrabytes Glitch Lab, a phygital collective founded by Augusto Calçada and Xristina Sarli, announces the launch of the TTTLab Official VR World. Project Mystery 91_Magnetic Dance, explores the relationship between technology and culture through a series of performances in collaboration with artists from Greece, Japan, and France.
