On September 12-13, 2018, the project “Common Initiatives to AcKnowledge and valorize tourism potential of the programme area through cinema” (CIAK) was launched through its kickoff meeting that took place in Bari, Italy. CIAK is funded by the Interreg V-A Greece-Italy Programme 2014-2020 and the kickoff meeting was hosted by the lead partner, the Foundation Apulia Film Commission. Ionian University is a CIAK project partner, represented by the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, being responsible for organizing and delivering the planned educational activities starting in 2019, as well as theme-specific festivals.

The ebook with the proceedings of the interdisciplinary conference Taboo-Transgression-Transcendence in Art & Science 2017 was published by the Ionian University - Department of Audio & Visual Arts in September 2018. This digital publication includes 38 contributions, in Greek and English, of writers from 14 different countries, accepted by the scientific and artistic committee.  ΤΤΤ2017 Proceedings

The Βοοκ "YELLOW TOURISM Crime and Corruption in the Holiday Sector" published by Springer International Publishing, is a follow-up to the 1st International Conference on" Yellow Tourism "(Tourism and Crime) organized by the Ionian University (Ionian Academy) April 27-29, 2017, addressing every form of threat and challenge to the tourist product from criminal activities.

The summer period for the administrative services of the Ionian University will last until August 17, 2018.

The International Summer Academy for Intercultural Communication (ISAIC) will be held in June, 2018 for the first time at the Department of Foreing Languages, Translation and Interpreting (DFLTI) of the Ionian University.
