The aim of the Ionian Contemporary Animation Festival ICONA 2022 is to present the best from the field of animation from all around the world. The EU-funded Horizon 2020 SIENNA project, where the Ionian University is a partner, has been awarded a Champions Certificate for its contribution to the ethical dimensions of the Information Society at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum. Maria Bottis, Professor of Information Law at the Ionian University, coordinated the Ionian University’s contribution to the SIENNA project, which worked to ensure that human rights, fundamental freedoms, and ethical values are respected in the design, development and deployment of new and emerging technologies.
