Scholars at Risk - Section Greece is to be established by its founding members the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Ionian University, the University of the Aegean and the University of Thessaly. 

Dr. Athanasios Tsipis and Prof. Konstantinos Oikonomou have received the Best Paper Award from the 26t IEEE Symposium on Computers and Communications (ISCC 2021) for their paper “Player Assignment in MEC Gaming for Social Interactivity and Server Provisioning Optimization”.

The summer holidays period for the administrative services of the Ionian University will last until August 16th, 2021.

On June 29, 2021, the UNESCO Directorate of Higher Education approved the establishment of the UNESCO Chair on Threats to Cultural Heritage and Cultural Heritage-related Activities at the Ionian University and awarded the Chair to Professor Stavros Katsios.

The desire to start a "normal" new year is strong. For this reason, we urge all students and staff to be vaccinated, if they have not already done so, and in this way to strengthen the hope of returning to the desired academic normalcy. Safely, individually and collectively.

The program is aimed at music teachers specializing in piano teaching, musicians, music students, piano students, piano teachers of all levels and all fields of employment who wish to develop and expand knowledge and skills in the field of pedagogy piano.

The prominent French Professor, Political Scientist and Arabologist, Gilles Kepel, paid a visit to the Rector of Ionian University, Professor Andreas Floros with the aim of coming closer to the activities of our University.

On 27th and 28th May more than 20 Greek representatives will introduce Greek higher education in Georgia.  

AV-school, the series of seminars and workshops of the Audiovisual Arts Festival, is taking place online this year from 24 to 27 May 2021. Among others, instructors at AV-school 2021 are the guest-artists: Filippos Tsitsopoulos, Barbara Douka, Adam Zaretsky and Marta de Menezes.
