On June 29 and 30, 2023, the Second Project Meeting of the partners of the SusTour project – “Joint e-course on sustainable management of tourism destinations” funded by Erasmus+ in the axis KA220-HED was successfully held in Granada. The two-day actions were organized by the University of Granada and took place in the Teleconference Room of the Faculty of Education of the University of Granada and in the Board Meeting Room of the Alhambra and Generalife, Palace of Carlos V.

The aim of the Ionian Contemporary Animation Festival ICONA 2023 is to present the best from the field of animation from all around the world. The festival also aims to preserve and help develop the cultural heritage of animated film, contribute to creation of new films, provide ground for potential international co-productions and encourages dialogue between professionals, filmmakers and the public. This exciting summer school focuses on various types of seafarers in ancient Greece, from pirates to sailors and colonizers. It explores their roles in mythical journeys, the colonization process, and naval battles from the Archaic to the Hellenistic age. Emphasis will be given to maritime religion, economy, and landscape. The program will also take advantage of the location of Corfu incorporating trips to islands and locations of sea-battles and inquiring about the role of ancient Corcyra in seafaring. Through a combination of in-class lectures and on-site teaching the students will be able to gain a deep understanding of the history of seafaring and to explore various aspects of the life of islanders in the ancient world. The students will also establish a good foundation in ancient Greek History, Art, and Religion.

The PhD Candidate of the Humanistic and Social Informatics Laboratory, Georgios Drakopoulos, won the Nikolaos Bourbakis Award for 2022 in the International Journal on Artificial Intelligence Tools, for the article "Higher Order Trust Ranking of LinkedIn Accounts with Iterative Matrix Methods".
