The first in-person two-day working meeting of the partners of the project PIONEER+ (Pioneering Innovation and Entrepreneurship capacity building activities through Digital Transformation), funded by the HEI Initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) under the 4th Cohort, was successfully held on 16–17 October 2025 in Corfu, at the premises of the Ionian University. The Ionian University serves as the lead partner of the project, coordinated by Professor Adamantia Pateli, Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center of the Ionian University.

The main phase of the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) “Sustainable Destination Management and Marketing” was successfully completed in Corfu from 13 to 17 October 2025. The programme was organized by the Department of Tourism of the Ionian University within the framework of the Erasmus+ initiative, fostering a dynamic environment for learning, international collaboration, and exchange of experiences. The programme was coordinated by Professor Christina Beneki and Assistant Professor Naoum Mylonas.

The successive extensions of the exhibition "...about the Desired University - The Ionian Academy and Lord Guilford" reflect the great success of this initiative.

The 3rd Sino-Balkanica Conference, organized by the Hellenic Sinology Center of the Ionian University and the World Sinology Center of Beijing Language and Culture University, aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and cooperation among scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and students engaged in Sinology and Chinese studies across Southeastern Europe, the Eastern Mediterranean, and beyond.

The Board of Governance of the Ionian University decided on the announcement for the admission of foreign-alien students to the Department of Music Studies, in the Music Performance and to the Department of Audio & Visual Arts, Undergraduate Study Program, in accordance with the provisions of Article 58 of 5094/2024 (Α΄ 39), for the academic year 2025-26. The period for submission of candidacies is set from 22/07/2025 to 22/09/2025.

The successive extensions of the exhibition "...about the Desired University - The Ionian Academy and Lord Guilford" reflect the great success of this initiative. Organized by the Ionian University and the Corfu Reading Society, the exhibition commemorates the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Ionian Academy (1824-2024) and the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Ionian University (1984-2024). It highlights the role of the Ionian Academy and its founder, Lord Guilford, in supporting higher education in Greece and Europe.

The 108th Hellenic University Rectors' Conference was held in Halkidiki from 6 to 9 May 2025 and was chaired by Professor Stylianos Katranidis, Rector of the University of Macedonia.

The Ionian University announces the launch of its first interdepartmental courses on Chinese philosophy and culture, a significant milestone in the academic development of the institution and of the internationalization procedure of the Greek public universities.

A teleconference on the cooperation between primary and secondary schools of the Ionian Islands region and the Chinese region of Qingdao recently took place at the Ionian Academy.

A delegation of the Ionian University led by the Rector, Professor Andreas Floros, paid an official visit to China from 18 to 28 September 2024.

From September 18 to September 28, 2024, a delegation of the Ionian University made a successful official visit to China within the framework of the institution's extroversion and international cooperation.

Ionian University participates for the fourth consecutive year in International Fair of Thessaloniki, which will take place from Saturday 7 to Sunday 15 September 2024 (TIF - Helexpo, Egnatia 154, Thessaloniki). The Foundation's presence in the previous three years was a great success, making its participation in the event an institution.

Ionian University presented its undergraduate and graduate programs of study to 11th and 12th-grade students of the Greek American School of Saint Demetrios, Astoria, New York. The event was held on Friday, May 24, at 10:30 a.m. in the School's Library.
