Project Mystery 91_Magnetic Dance, explores the relationship between technology and culture through a series of performances in collaboration with artists from Greece, Japan, and France. The technology for the project was developed within the framework of the HAL research project of the Department of audiovisual Arts at the Ionian University and is presented here for the first time in autonomous, large-scale works.

The year 2022 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Greek-born pioneer composer and thinker Iannis Xenakis, and is accompanied worldwide by events dedicated to his memory and work. To honour this Greek-born musician, a marathon concert takes place at Athens Conservatory, on Saturday 17 December, presenting works inspired by his musical work and his reflections on science and technology and the role of muscles in society and the arts. This event, which takes place at the Athens Conservatory from 7 pm until 3:30 am the following day, features musicians and artists from ten different countries (Greece, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Japan, Mexico, England, Ireland, Germany, Turkey, United States).

On Thursday, December 31st, 2020 and Friday, January 1st, 2021, the streaming of the projection mapping and the in situ performance which was created within the framework of the celebration by the Region of Ionian Islands for the 200th anniversary of the 1821 revolution took place. The artwork that will be projected, entitled "Sound and Light 1821 - 2021", was designed and implemented entirely by the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University.

Τhe fourth international conference "Taboo - Transgression - Transcendence in Art & Science" took place November 26–28, 2020, exclusively online as TTT2020 Vienna/Online, an umbilical cord between what would be and what it is. The event was an overall reconstruction of its original organization as a face to face experience at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, Austria.

On Monday, December 7th, 2020, at 17:00 CET, an Informational Event (Promotional Event) will be held within the framework of the CIAK project ("Common Initiatives to AcKnowledge and valorize tourism potential of the programme area through cinema"). The Department of Audio and Visual Arts hosts the multimedia electronic opera performance project by Miguel and Paula Azguime, "Salt Itinerary", on February 12th 2020, 21:00, at Ionian Academy, Corfu, as part of its cooperation within the EASTN-DC project with scientific coordinator for the Ionian University Mr Ioannis Zannos, Professor of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts.

The two departments of the Faculty of Music and Audiovisual Arts, the Department of Audio and Visual Arts (AVARTS) and the Department of Music Studies (Electroacoustic Music Research and Applications Lab, EPHMEE) of the Ionian University join once again forces in order to organize the 13th annual Audiovisual Arts Festival, held from May 6 το May 12, 2019, in Corfu. The Info Day in the framework of the CIAK ("Common Initiatives to AcKnowledge and Valorize the Tourism Potential of the Program Area through Cinema") project was held with great success on Wednesday, February 13, 2019. In the context of the event, the project actions that are being implemented were presented in detail, with emphasis on the Memory Greece – Italy Call, which aims to finance 10 short film productions, the script-writing seminar, scheduled for three weeks in Corfu, Ioannina and Bari, and the forthcoming animation festival to be held in the city of Corfu.

Inauguration of the digital exhibition on the occasion of the final meeting of "BYZART - Byzantine Art and Archaeology on Europeana" project will be held on the 15th of February 2019 at 10.30 a.m.
